Happy Holy Week! (Am I the only one who will be listening to the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack this whole week?) I hope you all had a great weekend. Before I go into my weekend I would like to express my excitement for Loyola making it to the March Madness Final Four (Go Ramblers!) Now originally I had thought about going to Budapest this past weekend, but sadly it did not work out travel wise. Instead I decided to sign up for a day trip to Leeds Castle, Canterbury, and the Cliffs of Dover. Leeds Castle is said to be the "loveliest castle in Britain" and I could see why. Not only was the castle charming but the surroundings grounds were beautiful. I even saw some wild daffodils which means spring is finally coming. We walked through the castle and I learned so much about its history and even its current use (they were setting up for a wedding later that day) After Leeds Castle we went straight to Canterbury where we immediately had lunch. Hello! Sorry it has been awhile but midterms really required most of my attention and energy. I also had a bit of travel troubles when my flight coming back from Amsterdam got canceled, but more on that later. I absolutely adored Amsterdam it is such a beautiful and vibrant city that is very walker friendly (besides almost getting hit by a biker on multiple occasions. The city gets a rep of being a place just to go and smoke weed. But take it from someone who has zero interest in that kind of stuff, there is so much more to the city. When I first got to the city I met up with a friend and we did some exploring. We checked out the Amsterdam Museum which gave an interesting history of the city as well as showcased some art. We also checked out the Royal Palace and walked around to all the shops nearby the main area. To end the night we ate at an Indian restaurant where I gorged myself on curry and naan. Surprisingly since being in London I have not had Indian as much as I would have...

Finally a break! While I have had an amazing time during my travels these past few weekends, it was nice to stay in London this weekend. Even though this weekend was very relaxed I certainly did not waste it. On Fridays I don't have classes so I decided it would be a perfect day to knock out one of the many museums on my To Do Lists so I took a solo trip to the London Natural History Museum. Museums are the perfect places to take solo trips because you get to walk through the exhibits at your own pace and go to what interests you most. I adored the museum, I have been going to a lot of art museums the past few weeks so it was nice to throw some science and history in the mix...and dinosaurs, lots and lots of dinosaurs. Also worth noting is no lie I had the BEST tuna melt ever at one of the cafes in the museum! Land of Braveheart, Nessie, and yes even Harry Potter! I just got back from my weekend in Scotland and it was incredible. I had never been to Scotland before so I was not entirely sure what to expect but what I got out of it was a pretty magical experience. We took the train there Friday morning and after some confusion about double booking (whoops) we were there! We spent the first day on a walking tour of Edinburgh as well as free time at the Edinburgh Castle. After checking into the hostel my friends and I continued to explore the city. One thing I noticed was the beauty of just about everything single church I saw. European churches will never cease to amaze me. The next day we went to a deer safari and I had the opportunity to feed the deer.
