Thanksgiving Break:Is it Christmas Yet?

Image
Hey! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. For me it was a great weekend to spend with friends and family. I think the thing I thought about that I was most thankful for are the people in my life. Although some aspects of this weekend didn't go exactly as I had planned it was truly the people I spent time with that made it worthwhile. The morning after I arrived I was definitely busy! I got up early to go to Kroger with my mom and help her pick up some last minute Thanksgiving things (including champagne and apple cider for my mimosas!) Right after that I went to iHop to have breakfast with one of my friends. We hadn't seen each other in awhile so we never ran out of things to talk about. Not long after that I went to church and lunch with my dad at the Well (our favorite place of course). The next day was Thanksgiving. While my mom, my aunt and I had planned on getting up early to do the Turkey Trot 5k my aunt's flight didn't come in till late than we had expe...

Christmas in November

Image
So since Chicago is in full Christmas mode, does that mean I can be as well? Hi everyone I hope you have all been well! I had a pretty great night this weekend at the Chicago Lights Festival! I honestly love this festival so much! I have been to it every year since I was a freshman in college (still can't believe I'm a senior!) On Saturday night some friends and I went to the Lights Festival Parade on Mag Mile. It is literally a full blown Christmas parade...in November! It is such a magical experience for me and I feel lucky every year when I get to go. I felt pretty lucky because it wasn't uncomfortably cold also there was a Garrets Popcorn float and your girl of course tried to get some free popcorn. Sadly I was handed a pack of mini muffins instead (yes I was disappointed) Although when I was trying to get some free popcorn I had yelled out "Please I'm a Poor College Student!" Yelling this more for the entertainment of my friends. A man closer to the str...

You Shall Go to the Ball

Image
I can honestly say when I left high school I thought I would never go to another school dance. But college has a way of surprising you. Loyola has a President's Ball in the fall that is open to all students (but seems to be mostly attended by seniors and juniors). I had never been to the ball in the past but since it is my senior year I thought it would be a great experience. I was so excited when I bought my ticket the week of until I realized I still needed a dress! After searching through some stores with very little luck I finally found the absolute perfect dress. I got my dress at a newer store in the Water Tower Mall (its only been open for a few months) called Altar'd State. I had been in the store before to just look around and they have so many super cute casual and more fancy clothes. They were also already all decked out for Christmas which is also what drew me there. When I saw my dress hanging I instantly fell in love and after trying it on I knew it was the per...

Lets Do The Time Warp Again!!: Halloween Weekend

Image
BOO! Happy (almost) Halloween y'all! Now I'm not gonna lie Halloween kind of ended for me this weekend, but hey I still have some movies to watch so I guess not all the festivities have ended. If you saw one of my posts from earlier this month then you've seen my festive autumn/Halloween decorations that I have in my apartment. Also though more recently I have added this adorable Halloween llama (who I obviously named Sabrina) and this Tiffany's inspired pumpkin that I painted. Sadly they were out of black paint :( I definitely had fun painting the pumpkin and I recommend pumpkin painting to anyone that lives in an apartment and doesn't want the place to smell like pumpkin for days or anyone who just doesn't wanna deal with the mess. Its fun, simple, and easy to clean up. Also if you don't have access to a pumpkin just color a picture of one! I found this template and colored myself a mermaid pumpkin. This year for Halloween my friends and I decided to s...

My Fall Break: Doing All Things Autumn in One Weekend

Image
Ya this is about a week late, sorry but I've been pretty busy (sadly my senior thesis isn't going to write itself) But I did recently have a great Fall Break back in Ohio. During this break I succeeded in my goal to do all things Fall related. I arrived Friday night, so first on Saturday I went to the farmers market with my friend Jess. Also on Saturday my dad and I went to the Ohio State game (my first time actually attending an OSU game if you can believe it). It was so much fun we walked around beforehand and checked out the tailgating scene. Going to Loyola I miss out on football tailgating so it was great to experience it. We also saw the marching band perform before the game which was also a great experience. The actual game was a lot of fun, even though it was pretty stressful. Even though it was 80 degrees it was still a perfect fall activity. Also that weekend my family and I went to a corn maze and market. The corn maze itself was fun (not very decorated or diffi...
