My Last Week In London Plus Returning Home

Image
PS this photo is from my first week in London Well all good things must come to an end and last week my time abroad came to an end. My time in London went by so much quicker than I anticipated it would, but I still had the time of my life and I am thankful for every moment. Since I had final exams during my last week, that took up some of my time, but other than that I was determined to use my last week to visit all the stuff in London I had not had time to see yet. On Monday I spent the day in Notting Hill. Sadly since it was a weekday Portobello Market was slightly limited but it was still so much fun to stroll through all the antique shops and stands. I also adored all of the pastel colored houses in the neighborhood , it was definitely very picturesque. Also this week I finally went to the National Gallery. I had been to just about every other museum in London but I had always missed this one. I am thrilled I was able to go because there is so much amazing art there from a...

Amsterdam: Reflection Cheese and Art

Image
Hello! Sorry it has been awhile but midterms really required most of my attention and energy. I also had a bit of travel troubles when my flight coming back from Amsterdam got canceled, but more on that later. I absolutely adored Amsterdam it is such a beautiful and vibrant city that is very walker friendly (besides almost getting hit by a biker on multiple occasions. The city gets a rep of being a place just to go and smoke weed. But take it from someone who has zero interest in that kind of stuff, there is so much more to the city. When I first got to the city I met up with a friend and we did some exploring. We checked out the Amsterdam Museum which gave an interesting history of the city as well as showcased some art. We also checked out the Royal Palace and walked around to all the shops nearby the main area. To end the night we ate at an Indian restaurant where I gorged myself on curry and naan. Surprisingly since being in London I have not had Indian as much as I would have...

We're All Mad Here: My Weekend in Bath

Image
Hello! Sorry this is a day late but with getting back to London and watching the Super Bowl yesterday it was pretty hectic (but fun!) I had never been to Bath or the Stonehenge and they were both marvelous. We stopped at Stonehenge on the way to Bath and even though it was chilly and raining, (like it always is) it was still so fun to see these mysterious structures that seem to have stood the test of time. We spent the perfect amount of time there allowing us to walk around the actual Stonehenge, check out the exhibition, and even grab lunch (btw I highly recommend the Stone Cake) Once we arrived in Bath we took a walking tour with a guide. I loved walking around and seeing all of the amazing old buildings that still seemed to blend perfectly with some of the more modern architecture. There were times walking around when I felt like a Jane Austin heroine, and yes I did make some time to stop by the Jane Austen Centre. Also during our free time I stopped by this adorable Alice an...
