A Chill Weekend in London

Image
Finally a break! While I have had an amazing time during my travels these past few weekends, it was nice to stay in London this weekend. Even though this weekend was very relaxed I certainly did not waste it. On Fridays I don't have classes so I decided it would be a perfect day to knock out one of the many museums on my To Do Lists so I took a solo trip to the London Natural History Museum. Museums are the perfect places to take solo trips because you get to walk through the exhibits at your own pace and go to what interests you most. I adored the museum, I have been going to a lot of art museums the past few weeks so it was nice to throw some science and history in the mix...and dinosaurs, lots and lots of dinosaurs. Also worth noting is no lie I had the BEST tuna melt ever at one of the cafes in the museum! I spent Friday night hanging out with my roomie as well as FaceTiming with one of my friends from the states, another thing I haven't had a lot of time to do with my c

A Harry Potter Nerd's Dream: My Weekend in Edinburgh

Land of Braveheart, Nessie, and yes even Harry Potter! I just got back from my weekend in Scotland and it was incredible. I had never been to Scotland before so I was not entirely sure what to expect but what I got out of it was a pretty magical experience. We took the train there Friday morning and after some confusion about double booking (whoops) we were there! We spent the first day on a walking tour of Edinburgh as well as free time at the Edinburgh Castle. After checking into the hostel my friends and I continued to explore the city. One thing I noticed was the beauty of just about everything single church I saw. European churches will never cease to amaze me. The next day we went to a deer safari and I had the opportunity to feed the deer. As a girl who has always lived near deer but has never had the opportunity to get close enough to touch let alone feed them, this was a great experience. Once we returned to the city my friends and I continued exploring and decided to c

Paris Holds the Key to Your Heart: My Weekend in Paris

Bonjour! I hope you all had a great Valentines Day! I just had the most magical weekend in Paris. I had been to Paris once before when I was pretty young (I'm guessing 5th grade) so it was amazing to go back and actually be able to truly appreciate everything. Our first full day was spent mostly at the D'orsay Museum, and honestly it was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. The museum features plenty of impressionist art from some of my favorite artists including Van Gogh, Degas, and Monet. I literally teared up a little bit at a Van Gogh piece and there was a temporary exhibition dedicated to Degas which could not have been more perfect. We also spent the day walking around the city and taking pictures of everything we could see. On Saturday we took a day trip to Versailles. By this point it had snowed quite a lot so the entire property was covered it snow. The palace itself was grand, beautiful and so full of history. My favorite part of the estate are the gardens

We're All Mad Here: My Weekend in Bath

Image
Hello! Sorry this is a day late but with getting back to London and watching the Super Bowl yesterday it was pretty hectic (but fun!) I had never been to Bath or the Stonehenge and they were both marvelous. We stopped at Stonehenge on the way to Bath and even though it was chilly and raining, (like it always is) it was still so fun to see these mysterious structures that seem to have stood the test of time. We spent the perfect amount of time there allowing us to walk around the actual Stonehenge, check out the exhibition, and even grab lunch (btw I highly recommend the Stone Cake) Once we arrived in Bath we took a walking tour with a guide. I loved walking around and seeing all of the amazing old buildings that still seemed to blend perfectly with some of the more modern architecture. There were times walking around when I felt like a Jane Austin heroine, and yes I did make some time to stop by the Jane Austen Centre. Also during our free time I stopped by this adorable Alice an
