My Last Week In London Plus Returning Home

PS this photo is from my first week in London

Well all good things must come to an end and last week my time abroad came to an end. My time in London went by so much quicker than I anticipated it would, but I still had the time of my life and I am thankful for every moment.

Since I had final exams during my last week, that took up some of my time, but other than that I was determined to use my last week to visit all the stuff in London I had not had time to see yet. On Monday I spent the day in Notting Hill. Sadly since it was a weekday Portobello Market was slightly limited but it was still so much fun to stroll through all the antique shops and stands. I also adored all of the pastel colored houses in the neighborhood , it was definitely very picturesque.

Also this week I finally went to the National Gallery. I had been to just about every other museum in London but I had always missed this one. I am thrilled I was able to go because there is so much amazing art there from a wide array of artists and styles. I was also lucky that when I was there, there was a temporary free exhibit on Degas (whom is one of my favorites).

Another thing that was necessary for me to do was to go on the London Eye. I wanted to do this near the end of my stay as a final goodbye to London. I was lucky that the weather was very clear and mild on the day I went and I had an amazing view from the Eye. Since I bought my ticket ahead of time, I was also pleasantly surprised how little I had to wait in line. It was definitely an eye opener of how little time I had left in London (I went on my second to last day)

On my last full day in London I spent the day in Kensington. This included visiting the famed London town house from the movie the Parent Trap (aka my mom's and I's dream home), I also browsed through Harrods one more time, and went to Kensington Palace and strolled through the Gardens.

My flight home was a breeze (thank you On Demand movies and complimentary wine) and while I do already miss Europe I am happy to be home with my family and friends. I am also excited for the experiences I will have this summer!

What are you looking forward to this summer? If your a student, how did your final exams go? Let me know in the comments!
