Why Galantines Day is so Important

Image
Hey Y'all I hope everyone had a great weekend. Whether you spent it with a significant other, friends, family or just enjoying some me time, I hope it was full of love. Even though the day itself has passed I still wanna talk about why I think Galantines (or as some say Palentines) Day is important to me. I didn't do anything special on actual Galentines or Valentines Day because they were both during the week and I had some exams that week. Although getting free chocolate in all of my classes was a nice perk. My friends and I decided to celebrate this past weekend. First on Friday we went to an escape room downtown called the Escape Game which was so much fun! We got out of the room with a minute to spare :) Also that weekend we saw the movie "Isn't it Romatic" which is a parody of all the Rom Coms we know and love. The movie itself was predictable but cute and enjoyable. Lastly as a little more spur of the moment I met up with some fri

Fast Times February

Image
Hey Y'all Can't believe we are almost at the halfway point in February. That always seems to be the case, January moves at a glacier pace and February is here and gone before we know it. I'm not going to lie, February is probably my LEAST favorite month of the year, I'm pretty sure its the weather. Also besides Val/Galentines Day not much happens this month. But I am still determined to enjoy it (even with this crummy weather). Since February goes back so fast I'm going to challenge myself to slow down and appreciate my surroundings. I'm hoping that buy slowing down I'll appreciate the little things in my day to day and maybe have some more time for myself as opposed to rushing from one thing to the next. But I also want this to be a fun month! So far this month I have a nostalgic fest at a We the Kings Concert, survived the polar vortex, went to a job event at the Art Institute (My Dream!) and am currently gearing up for Galentines Day with my frien

Things To Do When Your Stuck Inside

Image
Hello! So i don't know if you've heard but apparently the Midwest is going through a Polar Vortex. (Can you sense sarcasm through a blog post). So because of this extreme weather all of my classes are canceled for most of the week and I am currently stuck in my apartment. If you are in a similar situation as me here is a quick little list of things to do inside (besides the obvious binge watching Netflix) Do a deep clean/organization of your place. Color or Paint Do a Puzzle Start a project you have been procrastinating (crafts, hobbies, bullet journal etc.) Do an at home workout (Youtube is full of them!) At Home Spa Day (nails, face mask, the works) Write a blog post ;) Cook/Bake Read, Read, Read! FaceTime with a long distance friend you haven't talked to in awhile Prepare for February (Galantines Day, Valentines Day, Monthly Goals) Declutter your computer or phone by deleting old emails, photos, apps or documents Do some online shopping Plan your next v

Last Semester of College!!....Wait What?!

Image
Another Winter Break has come and gone. I'm back in Chicago and back to that college grind. Syllabus week feels like something I have done a million times. Only difference this time around is that this is my last time. Yup it has finally come to my very last semester at college. I am both incredibly excited and nervous about the next chapter of my life. There is just so much uncertainty about what kind of job I will have and even where I will be living! I have been applying for jobs this past month which also just makes it feel so real. Although I am also trying to make the most of my final semester. I am trying to take advantage of all of my student perks (such as free transport, free gym membership, discounts, and of course free admission at the Art Institute!) Also just having fun with my friends. It has been a busy week just trying to figure out my schedule and everything but I have made time for game nights, brunches, and even random trips to Evanston with friends. Aga

Happy New Year!: Joyful January

Image
Can't believe it has already been almost a full week of 2019. I am not sure what this year has in store for me (besides some of the obvious changes with graduation) But I am determined to make some memories and do my best to make it an overall positive year. I have a few resolutions this year but I try not to stress about them or do anything that seems unattainable or too specific. Instead I just have a few mindsets and goals to keep in mind for the year. I wrote some examples in my bullet journal as well as prompts to look back on 2018 and look towards the future of this year (and yes I STILL haven't filled this out). Writing these down is just a good reflection tool for myself and helps keep me accountable. I have also decided that each month this year I will choose a word (starting with the same first letter of the month) to focus on during the month. For example for this month I am doing Joyful January so this month I will focus on finding joy in things I do and see

Post Christmas Thoughts

Image
Hello! It has been a hot second! Sorry for the radio silence between finals and preparing for Christmas I have been a tad busy and honestly a bit unmotivated to write or post anything. I hope you all had an amazing Holiday Season. I know I did! I did plenty of festive activities including decorating, watching too many Christmas movies and specials to count, going to Christmas parties, and even taking a magical ride on the Polar Express. I love this time of year not only because of these activities but also being able to do these activities with family and friends. Every year we go to our family friends house on Christmas Day and it is always the highlight of the day. Being surrounded by loved ones and everyone being full of Christmas cheer and good will is honestly what really makes this time of year so magical. My family seemed very happy with the gifts they received (hopefully my parents get plenty of use out of the coffee pod carousel I got them) and I was also thrilled with

Christmas Spirit and Intentions: December Bullet Journal

Image
Since it it finally December no one can judge me for being in full fledge Christmas mode! This is my favorite time of year for so many reasons and I was very excited to lay out my bullet journal for the month. I stuck with many of my tried and trued pages such as my Habit Tracker, Daily Positivity, Mood Tracker and a Daily Log. But in honor of the holiday (as well as the start of a new season) I added a few new pages. One example is I added a Gift List to keep track of gift ideas that I want to give to friends and family. This is a good way to keep track of everything and make sure I don't forget anyone. I also added a Bible Reading plan that I found online. I thought it would be a nice way to observe my faith during advent. Here is a link in case you wanted to check it out. There are also plenty of other Reading Plans if this one doesn't suit you fancy Lastly since it is now winter, I added a winter bucket list. Most of the items on this list are Christmas related but so
