Should I Just Move to Evanston?

Image
Ok so sadly I don't have plans to move to Evanston anytime soon, but I did spend a good majority of my weekend there! First on Saturday night some of my roommates and I went up to Northwestern to see a football game. Sadly Loyola doesn't have a team so Northwestern was our best (and closest) option for college football. Even before the game we had fun just walking around and people watching during the tailgate. We even participated in some tailgating activities at Wildcat Alley where there was a Photo Booth, face painting, corn hole, and we even got to listen to the Northwestern marching band before the game. Sadly the Wildcats did not win this one but it was still a fun game! On Sunday I went back up to Evanston to meet up with some of my friends for brunch and shopping. We went to one of my favorite brunch spots, Cupitol where I of course got a Peach Bellini and a sweet potato bowl with a poached egg (Im pretty predictable when it comes to my brunch order). It was a bea...

Summer Favorites

Image
As much as we hate to admit it, Summer is almost over and Fall will be here before we know it (low-key excited for all things pumpkin). So I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite things from this summer such as books, movies, fashion, etc. Also i realized having a list of all of the movies, TV shows, and books really helped me remember everything I read and saw. Ok on to the list! Favorite TV Show : This is Us Season 2. Ya I know I was really late with this season but ah its so good this show just gets better and better. A warning for anyone who hasn't seen it though, it is an emotional rollercoaster. This is Us Favorite Movie : Avengers Infinity War, Won't you be my Neighbor: Ok this is actually a tie between two very different movies. Avengers was a fun ride from beginning to end and you know I'm always going to enjoy a good Marvel movie! I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Mr. Rogers documentary. Even though I didn't really grow up watching Mr...

Hometown Photoshoot

Image
I'll be the first to admit I have not been uploading content as frequently as I would have liked this summer. I think its a combination of ideas block, being busy, and just good ole procrastination. Nether less here is a very overdo post This past weekend my friend Taylor (who happens to be a great photographer, but more on that later) and I had dinner and did a mini photoshoot downtown. Check out her Instagram page @pixx_taylor_ to see some of the shots she got. Also I am by no means a photographer but even I got a few cute shots of the downtown area. This area is truly at its best right now and its my favorite part of my hometown and I think it especially thrives in the summer. Even the alleyways have their charm and the restaurant scene is definitely bustling (some of you already know about my devoted love to The Well) This was also a great opportunity to test drive my new sunglasses , as well as my lobster shoes , both of which I am currently obsessed with. I got them on ...

Darren Criss + Lea Michele Concert

Image
This past week I had the honor of witnessing two of the most talented performers in concert. My friends and I were lucky enough to witness both Darren Criss and Lea Michele in concert, a privilege I never thought I'd be able to experience. The concert was at the Ohio Theater (which of course is gorgeous) and we had such a wonderful time. Back in the day we were all major Glee fans so it was really fun for this prior theater kid to be able to re-xperience it and remember how much I loved that show. Beforehand we had a great quick dinner at a place nearby called Market 65 which had a wide array of sandwiches, wraps, and salads (my Wakame Salad was excellent!) We of course took a ton of pictures before the show in order to commemorate the experience and our amazing outfits (I am obsessed with the back of this jumpsuit). The actual show was amazing! They sang a mixture of their own original songs, covers from glee, and other covers that were all wonderful. Seeing Lea Michele sing ...

Cooling Down in Lincoln Park

Image
I'm going to be honest, ever since I moved here part time, Lincoln Park has become one of my favorite neighborhoods to explore. This weekend it is finally starting to cool down and it was the perfect day to grab lunch do some window shopping and just walk around enjoying the mild weather. After a full week of me being in denial thinking it was Fall (even though it was 70 degrees out) I finally felt a nice crisp fall breeze. Although it was still slightly warm enough to get Jenni's Ice Cream, which is a nice little ode to my dear Columbus Ohio. This outfit is the perfect example of a "Basic Julia Outfit" which will usually consist of jeans, a striped top, scarf, and statement earrings. Seriously I wear some kind of variation of this at LEAST once a week in the fall. By the way I absolutely adore how perfectly my scarf and earrings match! I couldn't find them online but the earrings are Kate Spade and I got them at TJ Maxx and the scarf is from Francesca (I wa...

Fall Break: Football, Rain, and Fun

Image
This weekend was my Fall Break from classes. This was also my first time back to Ohio since starting classes this fall. I love this break because it is a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family in Ohio and do Autumn activities that I can't do in Chicago (such as going to a high school football game for the first time since I graduated.) This was also a great opportunity to wear some of my new fall wardrobe! Most of what I wore this weekend is actually from Target, because they just released this new line called "A New Day". The price and quality of this line is amazing and I honestly love everything I've seen from this new collection. My first outfit was perfect for a day of running around town with friends and going to a football game. It was one of those days where during the middle of the day its really hot out so I was just wearing the tank, but when it cooled down at night all I needed was to throw on my trusty green army jacket. Also I am a fi...
