Week 2: Dang Am I Tired

Hello!
This may have been my second week in London but it was actually my first week of classes. Even though I only have 1 or 2 classes a day from Tuesday-Thursday they are still very long days because each class is about 2 and a half hours long. Although so far I do enjoy my classes and my professors seem pretty good (also my marketing professor said we would take several field trips to stores and even the Olympic Village).

With classes happening this week I didn't have too much time to site see but I definitely took advantage of the free time I did have! Since I don't have classes on Mondays, one of my friends and I went to the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. I had never seen it before and it was so cool to see all the guards in their different uniforms process in. Although one odd bit was that some of the guards played in a marching band and performed a few songs, some of which I didn't recognize...until they went into a full fledge Michael Jackson medley. While the medley was well done I was expecting a selection more distinguished (or even more British) from the Queen's guards. Again though it was very enjoyable and I am proud I got up early on my day off to see it.

Also this week my friends and I went to see Wicked on the West End! Tickets here are so much cheaper than they are in the States so getting tickets to a show during the week was very simple and cheap. I hadn't seen Wicked since I was about 14 and I was curious if I would enjoy it as much as I did the first time I saw it. The answer is yes it was so amazing, I loved the cast and there were plenty of elements that I forgot about that I loved again this time around. Also I will not lie, I still teared up at the end.

So all in all this was mostly a week of getting to know my classes and just hanging out with friends and getting to know our neighborhood more. Also though a little side note is that I made my first ever batch of pancakes this weekend!! (If you can even call them that). I wanted to make something for my roommate and I so I thought two ingredient (eggs and a banana) pancakes would be simple. While they do not look very pancakey they were in my opinion actually very delicious and had the perfect banana taste to them. I didn't even feel the need for any syrup, just a few chilled raspberries. Here is the link to the website where I got the recipe and instructions from. I highly recommend it for a fairly quick and healthy breakfast.

Have any other suggestions on what I should do on my days off? Or any other super simple recipes you think I should try? Let me know in the comments!
