Summer Favorites

As much as we hate to admit it, Summer is almost over and Fall will be here before we know it (low-key excited for all things pumpkin). So I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite things from this summer such as books, movies, fashion, etc. Also i realized having a list of all of the movies, TV shows, and books really helped me remember everything I read and saw. Ok on to the list!

Favorite TV Show: This is Us Season 2. Ya I know I was really late with this season but ah its so good this show just gets better and better. A warning for anyone who hasn't seen it though, it is an emotional rollercoaster.
This is Us
Favorite Movie: Avengers Infinity War, Won't you be my Neighbor: Ok this is actually a tie between two very different movies. Avengers was a fun ride from beginning to end and you know I'm always going to enjoy a good Marvel movie! I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Mr. Rogers documentary. Even though I didn't really grow up watching Mr Rogers, I knew who he was and I always really respected and appreciated his teachings and morals. This was such a sweet movie and there was a dry eye in the audience (same for the Avengers tbh) Also in all honesty I saw a lot of great movies this summer, like I can't believe I had never seen Princess Monoke until now so this favorite was especially hard!

Favorite Book: Crazy Rich Asians. I'm not going to lie I am still currently reading this, but out of all the good books I've read this summer I can already tell this will be my favorite. It's just such a fun read but its slightly different from the books I usually read. The movie also looks hilarious so I will hopefully be able to finish it in time to see it in theaters.

Favorite Recipe: I've been cooking more this summer and one of my favorite meals to make for myself is a good ole hummus bowl. Its pretty simple and adaptable recipe I just use hummus (my favorite brand is Oasis) as the base then I add stuff like spinach, peppers, cherry tomatoes, jalapeƱos, tuna, salsa, and a little bit of feta. It is honestly so delicious and filling its was my go to lunch to take to work this summer.

Most Frequently Visited Restaurant: Anyone who knows me knows I absolutely love The Well. The quality of the food is just amazing and I honestly love every single dish I've had there (my favorite this summer was the Dill Vegetable Salad) Also who can resist their indulgent and delicious Buckeye Bars, if you haven't had one yet definitely run down and get one if your in town!

Favorite Fashion Item: Definitely my lobster sliders. I wore them so much (especially in Georgia) They were honestly just so comfortable and they really added a little fun to whatever I was wearing, especially when they were worn with my matching lobster earrings!

Favorite Song: This category is another tie between two songs. Childish Gambino's This is America and Maroon 5's Girl Like You. Both songs are amazing and catchy plus both have great music videos to go with them (The social context in This is America is just genius!)

Favorite New Habit: I have really enjoyed having a more structured morning routine. Each morning I would try to make my bed and do a quick 5 minute workout. Doing these things are honestly a great way to start my day and make me feel a sense of accomplishment and togetherness before I even leave the door for work.
Here is the workout I do each morning
Favorite Summer Memory: This is definitely the toughest category because I've had so many great experiences this summer from the Darren Criss/Lea Michele concert to the Reds game I went to recently. If I had to pick though I think I would go with the day trip my family and I took from St. Simons to Savannah Georgia. Savannah is one of my favorite cities and it was so fun just to walk around the cities checking out all the stores and B&Bs and of course enjoying ourselves at a raw bar!

What were some of your favorite things from this summer? Want me to make a similar list for the fall? Let me know in the comments!
