Christmas in November

So since Chicago is in full Christmas mode, does that mean I can be as well? Hi everyone I hope you have all been well! I had a pretty great night this weekend at the Chicago Lights Festival! I honestly love this festival so much! I have been to it every year since I was a freshman in college (still can't believe I'm a senior!)

On Saturday night some friends and I went to the Lights Festival Parade on Mag Mile. It is literally a full blown Christmas parade...in November! It is such a magical experience for me and I feel lucky every year when I get to go. I felt pretty lucky because it wasn't uncomfortably cold also there was a Garrets Popcorn float and your girl of course tried to get some free popcorn. Sadly I was handed a pack of mini muffins instead (yes I was disappointed) Although when I was trying to get some free popcorn I had yelled out "Please I'm a Poor College Student!" Yelling this more for the entertainment of my friends. A man closer to the street heard my pleas for free food, turned around and said "for the poor college student." and put the bag of popcorn in my hands. I felt pretty guilty because I am financially stable enough to buy my own popcorn but he insisted. Honestly y'all don't deny the kindness of others, I'm happy I accepted it because it was some dang good popcorn!

After the parade we went to Loyola's Water Tower Campus to grab dinner around there. We went to LYFE Kitchen which was delicious. I had the baked chicken with brussels sprouts which also came with butternut squash (one of my faves).

We decided to stop by the Chriskindl Market. We knew it would be super crowded but we didn't care we just wanted our hot chocolate! We didn't stay too long (again to was super crowded and we will go back!) We did though get some hot chocolate with the adorable mugs they were selling! Lastly we stopped by the ginormous Macy's nearby to check out the Holiday windows.

Overall it was a great day and it really put me in the holiday spirit. Even though I was already ready for Christmas before the parade, now I feel extra FESTIVE!

Do you have any traditions like this? Are you already in the Holiday Mood? Let me know in the comments!
