Thanksgiving Break:Is it Christmas Yet?
Hey!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. For me it was a great weekend to spend with friends and family. I think the thing I thought about that I was most thankful for are the people in my life. Although some aspects of this weekend didn't go exactly as I had planned it was truly the people I spent time with that made it worthwhile.
The morning after I arrived I was definitely busy! I got up early to go to Kroger with my mom and help her pick up some last minute Thanksgiving things (including champagne and apple cider for my mimosas!) Right after that I went to iHop to have breakfast with one of my friends. We hadn't seen each other in awhile so we never ran out of things to talk about. Not long after that I went to church and lunch with my dad at the Well (our favorite place of course).
The next day was Thanksgiving. While my mom, my aunt and I had planned on getting up early to do the Turkey Trot 5k my aunt's flight didn't come in till late than we had expected and my mom and I were also up late so at the last minute we decided to just go on a family hike later on in the day. This turned out to be a good thing because not only was the weather nicer later in the day but the scenery up Mt. Pleasant was nicer as well. I really enjoyed spending Thanksgiving day with family members I don't get to see that often, also all of the food was amazing as well! Stuffing is still my all time favorite.
On Black Friday I got up a little earlier than the rest of my family to get breakfast and do a little Black Friday shopping with another friend. We had breakfast as the Well and I had never had their breakfast before and honestly I loved it! I highly recommend the Kale and Eggs. The lines at most of the stores in the mall were pretty long so we didn't buy much. But it was still fun to window shop together and just enjoy the slight chaos. I also went out again to shop with my aunt and cousin. The rest of the day was spent with family and that night I went to go see the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie. I have slightly mixed feelings on the film. On one hand it was good and I will always love anything Harry Potter but on the other hand there were some decisions I wasn't sure of in the film. I'm curious to see what J.K. Rowling does with the rest of the story.
Saturday was of course dedicated to watching the Ohio State vs. Michigan game, and before I knew it , it was Sunday. We thought we would be able to get our Christmas tree before my flight back to Chicago left in the late afternoon. Sadly though we had gotten the hours at the Christmas tree farm wrong and we weren't able to get the tree. We still had a nice day though doing some shopping and having brunch in Granville. Overall it was a really great weekend!
